During one of my trips to the far East I wanted to take advantage of the unique light and environment a different country has to offer by taking some portraits. The feeling you get in Taiwan is very different to London, the most noticeable difference is the pace of life, Taiwan just seems more calm, peaceful and easy-going.
One of the locations took place along the beach and coast of Kaohsiung with it’s dark charcoal coloured sands. The other location was within a school in Taipei. The colours I found here were very muted just as these photos display.
All photos were taken with Fuji 400H film and the Canon EOS 3 (my travel companion).

The light gets an innocent and sweet atmosphere which only a few are able to capture in such a good way.

Looks so clean and peaceful there. The beach and black sand is very stunning. Using film for travel photography seems very challenging and exciting. The different environments and light to capture.
