This was a collaborative effort between Connie Lai (founder of Peony & Mockingbird) and myself. Since shooting her wedding I developed an appreciation for her style and craft, and we mutually felt that we could combine our skill sets on this occasion. Connie did a cracking job getting Peony & Mockingbird featured on the May 2015 issue of Vogue magazine using the images below. It’s also worth mentioning that Pavla Zdarska was such a trooper for modelling whilst tolerating the cold for this shoot.
All photos were taken 100% in film on both medium-format and 35mm using Portra 400 (indoor) and Fuji 400H (outdoor) to add to the desired vintage look. At the time I wasn’t entirely sure if this was such a good idea given how dim and dull the weather looked, but it worked out.
